Miggy on Fire!

Miguel Tejada came into the game tonight with a .353 batting average, leading the National League in hitting. Then he was on 4 times tonight, including a game winning home run in the bottom of the eleventh inning. The Astros won the game 3-2 for a four game winning streak. That is a modest streak, but it is a step in the right direction.

T-shirts Make a Difference!

My nine year old grandson signed up to play flag football this summer in a city league. The program is one of those intended to keep the kids busy during the school holidays. He was excited when he signed up, but you should have seen his face when he got his “uniform”, one of those screen printing T-shirts with his team name on the front, along with the parks and recreation logo. You would think that he had just been drafted by an NFL team!

Kobe vs ???

The long anticipated finals between Kobe Bryant and the Lakers and LeBron James and the Cavaliers is not going to take place after all. The Orlando Magic ousted the Cavs from the playoffs last week, rather easily I thought, so King James will have to wait for his coronation till a way down the road, if he ever gets a crown.

So Thursday it will be Dwight Howard and the Magic against the LA Lakers and Kobe. It should be interesting to see how the matchups of big men play out.
